Reddit Donation Dispute

Viral case from Reddit, rule on it: I (29F) accidentally tapped a $5 donation at a store checkout. The card was the one linked to our joint bills account. I apologized over and over and tried to cancel it. My husband (29M) is furious because the store didn't 'need' the money, and we haven't spoken in a week. Am I entirely wrong here?
